MATLAB Mobile App Reviews

Good, needs camera support.

Good app in general, I love being able to interact with a session on my PC. But for the love of God please support image capture via the device camera! Why else would I want to run Matlab on iOS? This app is only 10% of its full potential without camera support.

DataScientist

Great app. Background sensor data collection is not working on ios9. Please fix.

Finally editor comes!

Editor is one of the most excited feature I wanna see in Matlab mobile, and it surely makes it the best marginal value of purchasing MatLAB. Thanks team, great work!

Good update

Good update overall. Id like to see a way to share extensions via the sharing extensions sheet so I cans use the Workflow app to speed up organizing figures for reports.

Editor, yeah

Now, I can truely use this app to create script and function on the MATLAB remotely

Close, but not quite there yet.

The overall implementation is great, very usable and not complicated in the least. Im actually quite surprised how well operations are performed in the "cloud". All of the keys on the keyboard have also been optimized to make entry quick and easy, and the figures are surprisingly good given that they are sent to the device from the server and displayed in such a small window. However, being an electrical engineering student, I use the symbolic equation form a lot, accompanied b the ezplot function, however, any time an "@" symbol is inserted into the command line, the entire app crashes back to the spring board. With that said, believe this app is one or two updates away from allowing me to leave my laptop at home when heading to school for the day. I cant wait until it is more stable!

Easy to get disconnected

Connect it to my computer, and its quite easy to get disconnected, especially when I use mesh to get a pic.

Needs support for older versions

I tried to use this but I missed out by one version of matlab do it wont work. Make it work with the older versions. At least 2008 and 2009 versions!!!!

Very handy

Since I use MATLAB so frequently, it has become the easiest way to quickly calculate or program anything. This app is a great way to have access to MATLAB on the go!

Tommy, will you marry me?

<3 MATLab

Old timer matlab

This remind me of good old days matlab on dos, the matlab cloud ia really fast, and running matlab on iPhone is a privilege. This cloud MATLAB is amazing, I was trying to solve a linear eqn on the street, and I simply typed A, B, then AB, and I got my homework finished with iphone, really amazing.

Nice!!

I really like the idea and have been able to use it some. What would be amazing for me is to be able to load a .fig that is saved from Dropbox. That would be as handy as it gets!

Complete and absolute piece of crap...

Complete and absolute piece of crap until it allows you to access and edit *.m files.

Needs editor!

I would pay money for this app if it had editor support!

Works

Works! Not as powerful as the PC version, but what can you do with just a server and an iPad? Good for basic calculations as well as basic graphing. If only it had a script editor...

Needs editor support

I agree with earlier comments that the usefulness of this app is significantly limited by its lack of support for editing .m files. Please add this feature! (And if necessary charge money for it.)

Very good app, thoughtfully-designed interface.

I am amazed at how easy it is to type text, possibly easier than on my computer version. I really like the paired parentheses, and the pinch zooming on plots is serendipitous. Fabulous UI work! Would love to be able to edit m scripts, but hey, its free, right?

Review Contains Improvement Request

I use MatLab in my research and classes, but I dont always want to lug my laptop around because it is too heavy. Thanks to this app, I can have MatLab on my iPod Touch, very convienient. I would however like to see " mupad " support and tha capablility to save the history of commands to a file similar to the " diray " command in MatLab for PCs. I would like to email the file to myself or transfer it to my computer, so I can then edit, copy and paste into a script file. Ive only been using the app for a few days now, so maybe the app can do something similar to what I stated already and I havent figured it out yet, but so far I havent discovered the capability. Overall I am pleased with this app.

Typical matlab license nonsense

I entered all my license info to get this running and got a license error on the first command I typed in. I told me to go to a link that I cannot just click on to get help. I then typed it in, but I just got a 404.

Needs Edit!

Great interface for running scripts already written, but useless to me without .m edit capabilities. Otherwise Im stuck on the desktop.
